Welcome
Welcome! I’m Stacey Kelly-Gil, and I’m passionate about helping others reconnect with themselves through yoga, wellness, and mindful living. Whether you’re here for a transformative retreat, holistic health guidance, or simply to explore new ways to nourish your mind and body, I’m excited to share this journey with you.
Stacey's Journey
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to understanding people, healing, and the deeper layers of what it means to truly live well. My path into this work didn’t begin with a grand plan. It began with curiosity, personal growth, and a deep desire to understand myself and the world around me.
Yoga first entered my life nearly two decades ago. What started as a physical practice slowly became something much more meaningful. Through yoga I began to experience stillness, awareness, and the quiet wisdom that lives within the body. That practice eventually led me to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Vancouver in 2018. Just over a year later, life took an unexpected turn when I found myself owning a hot yoga and fitness studio. It was not something I had planned, but it became one of the most profound learning experiences of my life.
Becoming a studio owner stretched me in ways I never imagined. Navigating the realities of business ownership, leading a community, and moving through the uncertainty of the pandemic required resilience, creativity, and faith that solutions could always be found. During that time, I also stepped more fully into teaching and sharing what I loved with others. The studio became more than a business. It became a community, a place where people could show up exactly as they were and feel supported in their growth.
Along the way, my own journey of self-discovery deepened. I am a sober woman, and that path has been one of the greatest teachers of my life. Sobriety has taught me honesty, humility, presence, and the importance of living consciously. It has allowed me to experience life with greater clarity and connection, and it continues to shape the way I hold space for others. My work today is deeply informed by that journey — the understanding that healing, growth, and transformation happen one honest step at a time.
I also consider myself a permanent student. Learning has always been a central part of my life. Over the years I have continued to deepen my education through advanced yoga training, meditation, holistic health studies, naturopathy, Ayurvedic cooking, and trauma-informed and somatic-based practices. Each layer of learning has expanded my perspective and strengthened my belief that true wellness is multidimensional. It involves the body, the nervous system, the mind, the heart, and the communities we are part of.
Sunsana Retreats was born from this journey.
I created Sunsana to offer something deeper than a traditional retreat experience. These spaces are intentionally designed for people who are ready to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and explore the deeper layers of their lives. Through a blend of movement, breathwork, reflective practices, somatic awareness, and meaningful conversation, we create environments where people can step away from the noise of everyday life and return home with greater clarity, connection, and purpose.
My hope for every person who joins a Sunsana retreat is simple. That they feel seen, supported, and reminded of the wisdom that already lives within them. That they leave not only rested, but changed in some meaningful way — with tools, insights, and relationships that continue to support them long after the retreat ends.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that transformation does not come from becoming someone new. It comes from remembering who we already are. Sometimes, all we need is the right space to begin that journey.

Co-facilitator
Hi, I’m Liz. I’m a 500 hour certified yoga teacher, personal trainer, and former dancer with a deep passion for helping people reconnect to their bodies in a way that feels safe, empowering, and joyful. Over the years, my path has led me through dance, fitness, and yoga, each teaching me that movement is one of the most powerful ways we can come home to ourselves.
I’m also trained in trauma-informed yoga and breathwork, which have become the foundation of how I guide others - gently, intentionally, and with awareness. My classes are designed to meet you where you are, whether that means building strength, finding softness, or simply taking a deep breath and being present.
My “why” is to help people rediscover their inner strength and remember that healing doesn’t have to be forceful, rather it can be graceful, curious, and compassionate.
On our next retreat, I’m most looking forward to sharing practices that blend movement, breath, and stillness - moments that invite you to reconnect, release, and realign with yourself. Together, we’ll explore the beauty of slowing down, tuning in, and creating space for peace and possibility.
