Why You’re So Tired All the Time in Perimenopause

You sleep, but you still wake up tired. You get through your day, but everything feels heavier than it used to. Even small tasks can feel draining. Fatigue in perimenopause is often misunderstood. It’s not just about sleep, it’s about how your body is functioning under the surface.
Hormonal fluctuations can disrupt deep sleep cycles, which means you’re not getting the restorative rest your body needs. At the same time, chronic stress keeps your nervous system activated, making it harder for your body to fully relax, even when you’re resting.
This creates a cycle where you feel both wired and exhausted.
Your body is working harder to maintain balance, which is why your energy feels inconsistent. Caffeine and pushing through may get you through the day, but they don’t address the root issue.
Supporting your energy in this phase requires a shift. Slowing down instead of pushing harder, nourishing your body consistently, and creating space for true rest all become essential.
Fatigue isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s feedback. If you’d like to learn more about yourself, check out my website for self-guided workshops, live workshops, or retreats.
